Call for papers (English)

AWARENESS IN INTERPRETATION

On 9 December 2023, KTV is organising an interpreters' conference. As the word says, the conference will focus entirely on the work and skills of the interpreter. The theme of the congress is Awareness in  Interpretation. The website www.tolkencongres.nl will be launched soon (Dutch only).

As of today, the call for papers is open. It is now possible to submit an abstract of your lecture (max. 250 words) via the e-mail address info@tolkencongres.nl. With your submission, you can indicate in which form you want to present your submission. There will be 5 conference rooms available for up to 250/100- 75 - 75 - 25 - 15 people. During the keynote lectures at the beginning and end of the day, there will be no parallel activities and all participants will be in the main hall.

Multiple submissions are allowed. Papers should match the theme of the conference.

When submitting your proposal, please indicate whether you prefer presenting in English or another language (the standard is not necessarily Dutch). This will be considered when dividing the papers into sessions as well as when deploying an interpreter booth. An interpreter booth is only available for the lectures that take place in the main conference hall (two keynote lectures and four plenary lectures).

The costs for providing a programme component at the Awareness in Interpretation congress are 250 euros excl. 21% VAT. You will receive an invoice for this if your entry is approved and assigned. Registration fee for the congress (150 euro excl. VAT) is not included.

You can submit a proposal until 10 April 2023. After this closing date, submissions will be assessed and classified as best as possible. Submissions that are not in line with the congress theme (or do not qualify as continuing professional development) will be rejected. The scheduling of the sessions will be announced to the submitter, published on the website, and communicated on social media as soon as possible.
